Description
Friese family moved to Amrita Shergil Marg in the year 1976. The photo is of the havan cum housewarming party at their new residence. The lady in the photo is Mrs. Sarla Thakral aka Mati ji She was the landlady (from 1969-75) and family friend at 60 Babur Road. She was a the first Indian woman to fly an aircraft in 1936 at the age of 21 . She served as a personal pilot to a Maharaja, most probably Maharaja of Alwar.
