Mumtaz Ahmed, a resident of Gafoor Nagar, is known as an emminent swimmer in the Okhla neighbourhood. He was also awarded a Jeevan Raksha Padak, a civilian lifesaving award by the Government of India, in 1997 for saving a drowning PAC personnel in the river Yamuna in 1995. Currently, he works as a Physical Coach at Jamia School and a swimming coach at Surya Hotel.
