Description
During the 1978 floods, Mumtaz Ahmed recalls the river flooding the Batla House area up-to 2-3 feet high. Mumtaz , then 19, was working with a flood relief unit, supplying food and amenities to the victims. Here, the locals (Mumtaz in raincoat) are trying to clear out the damaged vehicle from the Batla House road.
