Title:
Sardar Gurucharan Singh holding one of his ceramic wares, 1964
Description
Studio style in pottery was introduced to ceramic-ware enthusiasts in Delhi with the opening of the Delhi Blue Pottery by Sardar Gurcharan Singh in 1952. Today many of the motifs, colours and techniques like ‘glossing’ from the studio pottery world have been adopted by the traditional potters, who still continue to sell their wares on the roadside.
